Faith + Erick | The Court Above Main, La Crosse, WI
Faith and Erick’s June wedding at The Court Above Main in La Crosse was filled with meaningful details, personal touches, and a love that radiated throughout the day.
The morning began with a warm welcome from Kelli at The Court Above Main, who handed me a carefully curated box of details prepared by Faith. It’s always a joy to capture weddings at this beautiful downtown La Crosse venue, especially when the day is so thoughtfully planned.
Faith’s wedding dress from The Wedding Tree was breathtaking, paired perfectly with a flowing cathedral veil. Her custom stitched Converse shoes from LOVEwashedLINEN were a nod to her fun personality and attention to detail. But the most touching detail? Faith’s “something borrowed” was a pair of Erick’s favorite socks—a first for me to photograph, and a sweet reminder of the quiet, personal love these two share.
Faith’s bouquet from Rose’s Flower Cart was a showstopper, with blush pink roses, soft yellow carnations, baby’s breath, and lush greenery arranged into a cascading masterpiece.
As Ashley from Blue Ivy Salon & Boutique styled Faith’s hair and The Sarah Koblitz Team applied her makeup, the anticipation for the first look built. Meanwhile, Erick prepared with a custom tie clip engraved with a heart and Faith’s name, a subtle but meaningful touch that spoke volumes about his love for his bride.
Once Erick’s mother pinned his boutonniere, it was time for the couple’s private first look—a quiet moment to soak in the day before the celebrations began. It’s always a privilege to capture these moments as a La Crosse wedding photographer, documenting the joy and calm that a first look brings.
Afterward, the wedding party joined us at The Friendship Garden in Riverside Park for portraits. Surrounded by lifelong friends and the lush green backdrop of early summer, the bridesmaids’ dresses in soft pinks added a romantic touch to the riverside photos.
Both the father of the bride and the father of the groom wore personalized tie clips and cufflinks featuring photos from their children’s childhood—a beautiful nod to family and the journey that brought them to this day. I can only imagine the bittersweet pride Faith’s father felt as he walked his daughter down the aisle.
One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was Erick’s presentation of a hand-carved wooden spoon, honoring a European tradition where a groom crafts a spoon to symbolize his love, hopes, and commitment. It was a perfect reflection of Faith’s love of history and Erick’s devotion to his bride.
After a joyful cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by 4 Sisters, desserts by Ka Lia’s Kitchen, and an evening of dancing with Ever After Entertainment, closing out a day that was personal, joyful, and full of deep love.
